Writing your story isn't supposed to be easy, but with a little help and a dose of faith, you can do it! Here are some ideas to get you started, whether you're telling your story straight-up, or (shall we say?). . . with a twist. 


FIction (Not Quite True)

Pretend you're at a swimming pool and you are the lifeguard. A relative of yours shows up with his or her children in tow, and before you know it, one of them is at the bottom of the pool, drowning. Write the scene. 


List the first ten hats you ever owned, beginning with the earliest you remember. Then, choosing the most memorable hat, write about a time when something horrible happened while you were wearing it.
